Therapy Modalities
Below you will find my most commonly used therapy modalities and evidenced based practices.
Cognitive Behavior Therapy
Cognitive Behavior Therapy can really help a client understand their behaviors on an introspective and foundational level. In conjunction with Behavior Activation, I use CBT to help clients identify and understand unhealthy thinking patterns, replace them with adaptive thinking strategies, and set behavioral goals they can work towards.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy
Dialectical Behavior Therapy can be a powerful tool in helping a client regulate their emotions and change behaviors that are ineffective or self-destructive. Although I do not provide the support of a traditional DBT program, I incorporate and encourage practice of applicable skills from the four main treatment modules of DBT.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy can help a client focus on acceptance of thoughts and feelings without judgment, as opposed to elimination of symptoms. My favorite way to incorporate ACT is by using worksheets to help clients identify their values and create goals to engage in more values-based behaviors.

Motivational Interviewing
Motivational Interviewing can be very helpful with clients who are ambivalent. By first recognizing where the client is on the spectrum of the "stages of change", I can use targeted skills for that stage to help the client identify their strengths and resolve ambivalence. MI ensures change comes from within the client as opposed to an outside motivator.
